Greece (GR)
Alexia Mintsouli is a Greek designer. She graduated with a degree in architecture but felt that she had not yet reached the cusp of design. She founded her studio in 2017 and started experimenting with marble which was a material very familiar to her as she grew up in a marble factory. Her parents made mosaics and works of art and craft from marble and other types of stone. Marble is a natural, unique, and highly versatile material, which fascinates her, so she decided to work with it. ALEX MINT, her studio, presented the first collection in January 2018 in Maison&Objet exhibition in Paris. In collection Zero1 she developed her own style in the creation of furniture and small accessories. She roots for geometry and strong contrasts. Her goal was not just to create decorative design items but also to stimulate a feeling of amaze without losing the aesthetic balance. The first collection was from its start recognized as a series with a unique identity and therefore the brand has expanded to projects all over the world, collaborating with interior designers in Miami, Paris, Mallorca, London etc.
View ProfileEverDesk
Netherlands (NL)
The classic school desk archetype has historically been part of almost every culture. First invented 150 years ago, it has been forgotten in most parts of the world today. EverDesk aims to keep this classic shape and design heritage alive by introducing stylish, modern upgrades to make it suitable for the home. Although not designed with the current pandemic in mind, EverDesk can definitely serve as the perfect platform for kids to study and create, as home learning has become the new norm. Crafted using environmentally sustainable oak, it is 100% FSC certified. EverDesk is designed for the entirety of a child’s school years so there is no need to periodically replace desks by cutting down more trees which is neither sustainable nor in line with the company’s philosophy. EverDesk is designed to alter the traditional kid’s area in homes.
View ProfileTugce Sonmez Evin
Turkey (TR)
Tugce Sonmez Evin is a multi-disciplinary industrial designer with a great passion for storytelling. As she has worked in the film industry for many years, she had the chance to be a part of re-creation of different time periods on sets. Those experiences, added to her industrial design degree, has led to the creation of her design language; presenting extraordinary experiences through ordinary objects. In her designs, simple objects come with unexpected aspects along with their function. She embraces minimalism as a result of the “Form follows function” doctrine she follows since the early years of her design carreer.
View ProfileThiago Mondini
Brazil (BR)
Thiago Mondini is a young brazilian architect who works mainly with highly personalized interior design projects. Other branches of activity are architectural projects - specially residences - and corporate interiors. When creating unique interior design projects, Thiago tries to capture the personality of the clients in order to project this essence on the spaces. Thanks to this approach, there are no two projects that might look alike, even though there's always an underlying line of work that connects all of his creations. The symbolic function of architecture and the way it gives meaning to every aspect of the daily life is, in Thiago´s opinion, as important as the utilitarian functions of a design.
