Yamile Salomon
United States of America (US)
Yamile Salomon (Joy) is a Cuban graphic designer. In late 2018 in Havana she launched Joy Color Design, a project dedicated to the design of jewelry and various products that are strongly influenced by graphic design. Now, from her Little Havana apartment in Miami, she creates designs with a visual and conceptual synthesis. As a sort of wearable graphics, her pieces represent where textile meets silversmithing, using embroidery to unify materials and surfaces. Her designs are an elegant yet playful mix of materials, shapes and stories that carry a distinctively Cuban vision of minimalism that seek to be the joy and detail of your day. She currently works with 999 fine silver and recycled acrylic as her main materials. Each piece, imperfect but unique, is manufactured by the designer herself.

My purpose is to create a visually stunning world by creating authentic designs for brands, companies, and organizations. An authentic design is a balance between the client’s story and my creative interpretation. Such a design will strengthen the recognisability and increase the customer experience. I’m a passionate graphic designer, goal-orientated photographer, enthusiastic movie lover, social coffee junk, and part-time bass player. “And not necessarily in that order”. Because of my broad interests, I make surprising connections. These connections combined with my creativity results in striking and unique designs. But ... the most important factor and the basis for all my designs is the client’s story. At every stage, I brainstorm with him or her and listen to their wishes, and to their goals. This will give me the overall picture and serves as a reference to choose the right approach.

View ProfileFederico Varone
Argentina (AR)
Federico Varone says he is on the border between the designer and the artist. He crosses the border between abstraction and technique. He works between what is free and unprejudiced, between what is rigid and technical. The objects he creates have a soul, a second purpose that is discovered when they are used, they have a second reading as a hidden treasure for whoever wants to find it. For him, this double meaning is something essential that he tries to put into each of his designs. He is a restless and curious person, always discovering new themes for new design proposals.
