Mattice Boets
Belgium
Mattice Boets, an award-winning Belgian designer, gracefully weaves art and design through the use of state-of-the-art technology. Once extending his expertise to international clients across London, New York, and Paris, Mattice is now steering his creativity in a new direction. Having sharpened his skills through collaborations with luminary figures like Ross Lovegrove and Daniel Widrig, Mattice has transformed his focus into a singular vision – the creation of his own signature brand, 'Mattice Boets'. Mattice Boets is not merely a brand; it's an embodiment of Mattice's unique design philosophy, 'natural intelligence’. This concept blends the essence of the natural world with advanced technology, creating a harmonious balance between nature and design. Each piece is crafted to perfection, in which even the smallest detail isn't spared meticulous attention and refinement. The creations are more than just products; they are functional works of art, born from cutting-edge technology paired with artistic expression. These exquisite pieces have found their homes in select upscale design boutiques across the globe. The philosophy of 'natural intelligence' transcends the physical aspects of the creations. It signifies a devotion to refining each design to its inherent essence, uncovering its inevitable form. Sculpted through state-of-the-art technologies, these creations push the boundaries of the known and venture towards the truly significant. This approach positions Mattice Boets at the vanguard of the next generation of designers, pioneering a new paradigm in design. Born in Belgium, Mattice holds a Master of Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial product design, magna cum laude, from the University of Applied Sciences Howest, Belgium. His team’s research, as part of the Material Architecture Lab, led by Daniel Widrig and Dr. Guan Lee, revolved around the cultivation and design of living material on an architectural scale, a first for the lab since its inception in 2004. Armchair
Flow is an armchair inspired by the flow of water. The design started as a bare rock, the simplest form of a chair. Then the water came, flowing all around the rock and the person sitting. It is the interaction between the rock and the water that created this design. The result is an armchair perfectly shaped around the human body. The design is entirely unique from every angle. In a way, the armchair becomes part of you. The design of Flow combined with its deep blue color, tells a story of how it once came to be.

Clock
While time flies by, clocks have stayed the same. Reverse is not an ordinary clock, it's the reversal, a minimalistic clock design with subtle changes making it one of a kind. The hand facing inward rotates inside the outer ring to indicate the hour. The little hand facing outward stands alone and rotates to indicate the minutes. Reverse was created by removing all elements of a clock except its cylindrical base, from there imagination took over. This clock design aims to remind you to embrace time.

Outdoor Sofa
Inspired by the tactility of pebbles, Pebble is an outdoor sofa made from white-grey cork. It consists of various pebble-like cushions that perfectly fit together. The design translates the tactility of pebbles, the urge to feel and touch, into a pebble-like composition that everyone can experience at any time of the year. The sofa can be left outdoors permanently and is resilient against natural weathering. The use of cork is a premier in outdoor furniture. It allows a new design language to emerge, is lightweight, and shows the potential of using cork beyond indoor use.
